The Cathedral is home to the Centennial organ, installed in 1877. The church was constructed in 1851. St. Joseph Cathedral serves as the main Church of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. Built in 1855, St. Joseph’s represents a symmetrical and generalized Gothic style common to mid-nineteenth century Catholic Churches. The façade of this Cathedral is French in design, with its twin towers (the north spire was never built), rose windows and triple portals.
