Shea’s Free Family Film Series

The 19th Annual Free Family Film Series at Shea’s Performing Arts Center provides free family-oriented movies to the general public and the 2009-2010 Film Series continues with Shrek (PG) on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.  Doors for the free film will open at 1:00 p.m.  Free movie tickets are available to the general public approximately 10 days prior to the film date at Wegman’s Customer Service Desks (Erie/Niagara counties) and at Shea’s Box Office (open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).  Entrance to the theatre is available through Pearl Street and Main Street.  Movie tickets/seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only.

Originally built as a movie house when it opened in 1926, Shea’s offers the Free Family Film Series “to provide patrons with the opportunity to experience Shea’s as patrons did during the theatre’s early days,” said Lisa Grisanti, director of marketing and public relations at Shea’s.  The movie viewing screen is one of the largest in New York State and the theatre seats 3,019.  The Free Family Film Series is sponsored by Perry’s Ice Cream, The Buffalo News, Star 102.5 Radio, Wegmans and a New York State grant secured through the Office of Assembly Member Sam Hoyt.  Shea’s Performing Arts Center is located at 646 Main Street and for more information call 716/847-1410 or visit
