Buffalo City Hall
65 Niagara Square
Buffalo, NY 14202
Buffalo’s City Hall was designed by architects John J. Wade and Sullivan W. Jones and was dedicated in 1932. “The Hall” as it is known, is a premier example of Art-Deco style architecture that was popular during the 1920’s. This 32-story structure was built at a cost of $7 million and it dominated the Buffalo skyline during the early years of the Great Depression. The vaulted lobby contains a colorful mosaic ceiling while the front and rear end walls of the second floor lobby display oversized, richly colored mural paintings by William de Leftwich Dodge, a renowned New York City based artist. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
