The Guaranty Building
The Guaranty Building
28 Church Street
Buffalo, NY 14202
Designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler, this priceless landmark replaced 1830’s wood framed tenement houses. The Guaranty Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 but a fire damaged several of the floors of the building in 1974. A broad-based community effort in the 1980’s raised approximately $8 million to restore the building to its original state. Recently, Hodgson Russ, LLP purchased the building and when renovations are completed, the firm will move its headquarters to the Guaranty Building. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
