Locust Street Art
138 Locust Street
Buffalo, NY 14204

Locust Street Art opened in 1959 at the direct request of neighborhood children. The mission of Locust Street Art is to provide realistically accessible, professionally-taught, tuition-free, long-term, ongoing instruction in the Visual Arts of Painting, Drawing, Clay and Photography for ages 3 1/2 to senior adulta. Locust Street Art serves individuals who might otherwise have little opportunity to develop their talent and skill in Visual Art. Locust Street Art provides advocacy activities for teen/adult students who are becoming professional artists including portfolio development, exhibition and sales opportunity assistance, resume and grant application assistance, contract advisement and helping individuals learn how to function as artists in the art world. Students who have prepared portfolios at Locust Street Art have consistently been accepted to an art school of their choice and many have gone on to pursue careers in art.
