The certificate of incorporation for St. Paul’s is dated February 10, 1817. The Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Western New York and is renowned for their highly trained choirs and dedicated music staff. St. Paul's Cathedral was designed by Richard Upjohn, who is considered the greatest American Gothic church designer in America. His most famous work is Trinity Church in New York City, but his biographer reports that Upjohn considered St. Paul's his best work. Along with a distinguished musical staff and music program, the Cathedral boasts of three majestic organs. Each of the different organs can be played from one console. One of the organs dates back to 1908, and is a gift from an inventive organ builder who introduced many electrical novelties to the organ world. There are tours of the cathedral every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
