EDUCATION

Downtown offers educational resources for learners of all ages.

Charter, public, and private schools in addition to a job training center and culinary arts center are all in the area. Downtown is also fortunate to be home to the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, which serves as the flagship library of the Buffalo region. The expansive building features a MakerSpace for creating art and trying new technologies, a weekly speaker series, recording studio, rare books room, and more.

+ GRADE SCHOOLS

The Buffalo Public Schools of Choice process allows parents to make school selections from all Buffalo Public Schools. Buffalo Charter Schools are tuition free but with local control and decision making. They serve as an alternative for parents looking for another form of quality public education. Tuition-based private schools are another option. Many are religiously affiliated, but there are also secular private schools to choose from.

+ COLLEGES & VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Downtown educational institutions represent both collegiate and vocational programs. Erie Community College borders Downtown and welcomes thousands of students and athletes from across the region on a daily basis. The University at Buffalo Education Opportunity Center provides academic, vocational, and career services to residents. Students utilizing the EOC can enroll in more than 20 programs and services offered days, evenings, and weekends.
